The Wright State Lakers traveled to Hamilton, Ohio to take on the Harriers of Miami University - Hamilton on Saturday. The Lakers lost a late lead in game one and could not get the bats going in game two, as the Harriers won both games of the doubleheader.

The Lakers and Harriers played a tight game, but Miami Hamilton pulled out the 7-4 victory in game one. The Lakers lead four to three with two outs in the bottom of the sixth when Casey Grimm came in to the game in relief of starter Dan Borchers. Grimm gave up a bunt single, another single and a triple which gave the Harriers to lead for good.
After Wright State Lake Campus scored one run in the top of the third, Miami Hamilton answered with one of their own. The Lakers scored when Tristan Becker singled off of Joey Johnson, driving in Dustin Lewis. Miami Hamilton then answered when Jarrod Hall had a RBI grounded out to tie the score in the bottom of the inning.
Ryan Zeils earned the save for Miami Hamilton. He went one inning, allowing zero runs, zero hits, striking out one, and walking one. Grimm took the loss for the Lakers. He surrendered three runs, three hits, and walked zero.
Dan Borchers started and tossed five and two-thirds innings, allowing four runs, seven hits, and striking out two. Johnson started the game for Miami Hamilton. He pitched six innings, allowing four runs, ten hits, striking out one, and walking zero.
The Lakers collected ten hits on the day. Dustin Lewis, Jared Knous, and Becker each collected multiple hits for Wright State.
Miami Hamilton had 11 hits in the game. The Harriers had four young men who collected multiple hits in game one. Hall led Miami Hamilton with three runs batted in.

Game two was one to forget for the Lakers, as they fell to Miami Hamilton 10-0.
Miami Hamilton scored five runs in the fifth inning. Miami Hamilton's big inning was driven by a single by Hall, a double by Austin Boggs, a single by Myketti Akemon, and a single by Adam DeLaet.
Ben Briede earned the win for Miami Hamilton. He threw six innings, surrendering zero runs, zero hits, striking out four, and walking one. Billy Lanman took the loss for the Lakers. He went five and a third innings, surrendering eight runs, seven hits, and striking out four.
The Lakers are now 19-13 on the season and are currently ranked #2 in the USCAA.
