The WSU-LC baseball team took on Robert Morris Peoria Sunday in a double header to finish the weekend series. The Lakers were very sloppy in game one, and Coach Chad Geier implored his team to respond well in Sunday's twin bill. The Lakers came out focused and sharp in both games and saw themselves back in the twin column in a pivotal conference double header.
Game 1:
Noah Greathouse was the star of game one. He had a career day for the Lakers collecting four hits in four at bats, as Lakers defeated Robert Morris - Peoria 10-2 on Sunday. Greathouse was just a home run shy of the cycle. He tripled in the first, doubled in the second, singled in the fourth, and singled in the sixth.
Lakers notched four runs in the sixth inning. Stephen Hoendorf, Chase Ruiz, Connor Burr, and Tyler Venters all moved runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning. Zach Kirby was the winning pitcher for Lakers. He surrendered two runs on four hits over six innings, striking out seven. Quintin Cantelli threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.
Lakers mashed 17 hits in the game. Greathouse, Ruiz, Dustin Lewis, Tristan Becker, Conor Schmitt, and Venters all managed multiple hits for Lakers. Lakers didn't commit a single error in the field as they cruised to a 10-2 victory.

Game 2:
Casey Grimm threw a complete game shutout to lead Lakers past Robert Morris - Peoria 8-0 on Sunday. Grimm surrendered only two hits over seven innings, striking out 11 and walking one
Lakers put up four runs in the fourth inning. Lakers's offense in the inning came from a walk by Conor Schmitt and a triple by Tristan Becker. Stephen Hoendorf led Lakers with two hits in four at bats. Lakers tore up the base paths, as three players stole at least two bases. Connor Burr led the way with three. The Lakers won 8-0 over the Eagles.
The two wins move the Lakers to 8-9 on the year and 3-2 in conference play.
Inside the Box Score:
- Grimm's 11 strikeouts were a career high for the Sophomore
- Lakers stole 10 bases in the game, which is a program record for stolen bases in a single game
- Becker had three RBIs which led WSU-LC in game two.
- Connor Burr had three stolen bases and Dustin Lewis stole another two bases in game two.
