Lakers Lose Heartbreaker to Oakland City

In spite of a solid performance from CJ Taylor with 29 points, Wright State Lake fell to Oakland City 83-82. On a two-pointer from C Avina, Oakland City secured their lead in the third quarter.

Lakers and Oakland City were tied up at 76-76 at the half, but Oakland City pulled away during the final two quarters.  Wright State Lake got physical during the game, racking up 21 fouls.

With a field goal percentage of 67% (10-for-15), Taylor had a great game from the field, also sinking 58% (7-for-12) of threes attempted.

Three other players also scored in the double digits for Wright State Lake.  Josh Florence contributed 14 points and DaeShawn Beasley scored 10 points.  Vernon Montgomery hit five three-pointers and scored 21 points total. Also chipping in for Wright State Lake were Darion Rockhold (6 points, 1 rebound, 1 block) and Antonio Wilson (2 points, 3 rebounds).  Florence was a big defensive contributor as well, racking up eight rebounds and two steals.

Wright State Lake finished the game with 33 rebounds (6 offensive / 27 defensive), one block and three steals.
