The Wright State Lake Campus Men's Basketball team traveled to Ohio Christian to take on the Trailblazers for one last game before Thanksgiving break. The Lakers came into the game 1-6 and while the Trailblazers entered 2-5. The Lakers came out the games focused on both ends of the floor and defended OCU extremely well in the first half and built a lead as big as 13 points in the first half. At the end of the first half the Wright State Lakers held the advantage over OCU 34-25. The Lakers did a great job defensively forcing 12 turnovers and holding OCU to 34 percent shooting in the first half. Out of the gates in the second half OCU made adjustments and the Lakers countered but the Laker offense went ice cold as the Blazers chipped away at the lead. By the 10 minute mark the comeback was complete as the Blazers took a 51-50 lead. The Trailblazer built their lead as big as 6 late in the second half but the road team battled back to tie the game on Jalen Huff's 3 with a minute to go. OCU was able to answer and was up 3, with 20 seconds to go, Coach Richard Westerlund called a timeout to draw up a late game set on the sideline. Unfortunately the Lakers were not able to get the ball in before a 5 second violation which sealed the Lakers fate. Ohio Christian defeated the Lakers 69-65. The Lakers were led by Nick Passino's first career double double of 16 points and 10 rebounds.

• Lakers forced 19 turnovers while only committing 9 turnovers

What Coach Says:

Coach Westerlund on his team's performance, "I was really proud of our defensive effort tonight. We did enough defensively to get the win, but we have got to be better offensively. In the second half we had stand still offense and were not decisive in attacking the paint. We settled in the second half and took too many early or bad shots. I have to do a better job preparing our guys for late game situations. We just did not execute late the way we should have." On Nick Passino's performance, "I was extremely proud of Nick. We have really challenged him as of late and he had a really nice game tonight. He has gotten better with every game and I am hoping he can continue to build off of this game." On where the Lakers are at, "We are close. We are a young team learning how to win and compete consistently at this level. We are still searching for that allusive signature win, but this group has continued to get better everyday, and while our record might not be where we want it to be, we are getting better. As we come back from Thanksgiving break we will continue to grow and change our best daily."
