The Wright State Lakers came into Wednesday night fresh off a win against OSU Lima, to take on #18 Cincinnati Clermont for their last home game of the year. The Lakers were focused and ready to go as the jumped out quick on the Cougars in the first half. The score was 13-11 when Isaac Clay split the Cougar defenders with a tremendous individual move and he advanced the ball to Jordan Gorman who swished the three. Jahod Lang then electrified the building when he dunked on a helpless Clermont defender. The very next play Isaac Clay threw an alley oop off the backboard to Lang who flushed it home and expanded the Lakers lead to 14. The Lakers closed the first half in complete control up 44-26. 

The second half the Cougars would not go down without a fight. They shot their way back into the game cutting the Laker lead to 6 points with only eight minutes to go. Coach Westerlund called a timeout to settle the team down, and make adjustments on defense. The Lakers then would respond and not allow the Cougars to get any closer. The Lakers used a balance scoring attack to win against #18 Cincinnati Clermont. The Lakers had four players in double figures and three players with six points or more. With the win the Lakers improve to 12-17 overall, and 7-2 in USCAA play. The win is the most the Wright State Lake Campus Men's Basketball team has had since the 2008-2009 season. The Lakers also were 3-2 this season against ranked USCAA teams this season.

• The Lakers held the rebounding advantage over the Cougars 50-40, including 18 offensive rebounds.
• The Lakers big men continued their strong run of play with 28 points and 23 rebounds on the night.
• Ball Security: WSU-LC only turned it over 9 times compared to the Cougars 20 times.
• The Lakers held the Cougars to 32% shooting including 18% from three with only five makes after the Cougars shot 46% from three and draining 15 threes in the first meeting between the teams.

Coach Richard Westerlund said this after the game, "I am so proud of these guys. This group has accomplished so much this season already and tonight was another night that we accomplished a lot. We did a great job jumping out on the Cougars tonight. In our first meeting the Cougars shot the lights out and we just did not come out with energy, but tonight we were focused and brought the energy. I thought Jahod Lang was a game changer tonight. In the first half he really brought the energy offensively and defensively. We got a little lackadaisical in the second half and allowed Clermont to get back in the game, but we steadied the ship and took care of business tonight." On what it means to win 12 games this season, "This group of guys is changing the culture of our program. It is really fun to watch it unfold. Twelve wins is the most our program has had since 2008-2009. Our goal is to establish a winning tradition here and this year so far we've taken a step in the right direction."

The Wright State Lakers will travel for their last game of the year on Friday, February 15th, to take on #4 Grace Bible College (NCCAA). Tip off is scheduled for 7:00p. The Lakers will await to see if they earn an at large bid in the USCAA National Tournament. The tournament field will be announced Tuesday, February 20th.
