The Lady Lakers were invited to the Annual University of Rio Grande "Bevo Francis Tourney this past weekend with optimism of obtaining their first win of the season. In the first game against Rio Grande nationally ranked 24th in the country in NAIA the Lady Lakers were overmatched in virtually every position and could not generate enough offense losing 99-28. Kenadee Dixon led the Lady Lakers with 9 points. Going into the second game the next day against Kentucky Christian the Lady Lakers came out determined clicking on all cylinders and led for most of the first and second quarters but turnovers and foul trouble crept in and though they played hard the Lady Lakers fell to Kentucky Christian 92-56. Kenadee Dixon named to the All Tournament team led the Lady Lakers with a Double Double 16 points and 10 rebounds. Mikayla Stump added 15 points. "We were totally outmatched in the first game but played as hard as we could said Coach Lanier. In the second game we knew coming in it was a very winable game but we shot ourselves in the foot with turnovers and getting into foul trouble. We are learning and will continue to work hard"!. The Lady Lakers have a break for the Thanksgiving Holiday but will get back to work on Friday to prepare for Siena Heights University in their annual Thanksgiving Tournament November 24th and 25th .
