Lakers Split Again on Saturday with Hiwassee

WSULC Lakers fell to Hiwassee College 4-3, in Game 1 of Saturday's Doubleheader.

The top of the third saw the Lakers take an early lead, 2-0. More runs came home for the Lakers when Venters scored on a groundout by Isaac Fitzgerald.

It didn't take long for Hiwassee College to respond as it scored two runs of its own in the third. Hiwassee College scored on an RBI double by Judd and an RBI single by M. Marsh.

A six-run explosion in the third inning spurred the Lakers to a 7-0 win in Game 2 over Hiwassee College.

The Lakers scored in the third on a walk by Fitzgerald, a two-run single by Colton Nealeigh, a sacrifice fly by Jake Armstrong, a steal of home by Nealeigh, and an RBI single by Venters.

Wright State Lake Campus was led by a flawless day at the dish by Venters, who went 2-2 against Hiwassee College's pitching.
 
Alek Hartell was confident on the bump for the Lakers. He allowed no earned runs over five innings. Hartell gave up five hits while walking one and striking out one.
 
N. Jett was charged with the loss. He allowed six runs in 2 2/3 innings, walked four and struck out two.
