7th Inning Dooms Lakers

Wright State Lake Campus lost the ballgame after a seventh inning rally Wednesday, as Miami-Hamilton grabbed a 9-5 victory.

Ronaldo Acosta did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Lakers, reaching base three times. He scored one run and had one RBI. He singled in the third and eighth innings. 

Miami-Hamilton was sparked by Belien and Thamanm, who teamed up for five hits and three RBIs.

Dan Borchers was charged with the loss. He lasted 6 1/3 innings, walked one, struck out one, and allowed five runs.

The top of the third saw Miami-Hamilton take an early lead, 1-0. Miami-Hamilton's threat began with a single by Johnson. An error then moved Johnson from first to second. Belien doubled, plating Johnson.

The Lakers quickly matched Miami-Hamilton's strong inning with a one-run inning of its own in the third, as they scored on an RBI double by Derek Waterman.

Miami-Hamilton didn't relinquish the lead after scoring one run in the sixth inning when it scored on an RBI single by Hall.

Miami-Hamilton piled on six more runs in the top of the seventh. Akemon started the inning with a single, bringing home Johnson. That was followed up by Belien's double, plating Akemon.

Four runs in the bottom of the eighth helped the Lakers close its deficit to 9-5. An RBI single by Connor Burr, a two-run error, and an RBI single by Acosta fueled Wright State Lake's comeback.
