Lakers Split Saturday's DH with Rochester

A tight game was decided in the sixth inning as Wright State Lake Campus fell to Rochester College 5-4 in seven innings in Game One on Saturday.

Rometty got the win for Rochester College. He allowed four runs over seven innings. He struck out eight, walked three and surrendered five hits.

Alek Hartell was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted 5 2/3 innings, walked none, struck out four, and allowed five runs.

The top of the second saw the Lakers take an early lead, 2-0. Austin Quellhorst doubled to ignite the Lakers' offense. The scoreboard lit up again for the Lakers when Wolter scored on a groundout by Tyler Venters.

Wright State Lake matched its one-run third inning with one more in the fourth. In the third, the Lakers scored on a groundout by Colton Nealeigh, scoring Dillon Bell.

Rochester College didn't relinquish the lead after scoring five runs in the sixth inning when it scored on an RBI double by Hartwick, a fielder's choice, and two singles.

In Game Two, Isaac Fitzgerald brought home the winning run to give the Lakers the lead in the eighth inning, as they hung on to beat Rochester College 5-3 on Saturday.

Tyler Venters walked to get on base in the eighth. He then went from first to third on a single by Derek Waterman.

Waterman had a hot bat for the Lakers. Waterman went 3-5 and scored three runs. He singled in the first, third, and eighth innings.
 
Connor Burr got it done on the hill on the way to a win. He pitched 2 1/3 shutout innings. Burr struck out one, walked one and gave up one hit.

Reinig took the loss for Rochester College. He lasted just five innings, walked three, struck out eight, and allowed three runs.

The top of the first saw the Lakers take an early lead, 1-0. They matched that run with one more in the third and fifth.

Rochester College pushed one run across in each of the fourth, fifth and sixth. In the fourth, Rochester College scored on an error, plating German.
