Lakers Split USCAA DH

WSULC Lakers jumped out to an early lead on Robert Morris - Springfield and captured a 15-0 victory in game one of a USCAA DH, on Saturday at UC-Clermont. 

With 15 runs in the first three innings, the Lakers left no doubt about the eventual outcome. 

An RBI single by Colton Nealeigh and a sacrifice fly by Isaac Fitzgerald during the first inning and a two-run double by Nealeigh, a two-run double by Tristan Becker, and an RBI single by Dan Borchers in the second inning fueled the Lakers' offense early. 

Nealeigh racked up four RBIs on three hits for WSULC Lakers. 
 
Connor Burr had an impressive outing against Robert Morris - Springfield's lineup. Robert Morris - Springfield managed just one hit off of Burr, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three during his two innings of work. 
 
Riley Leubke recorded the win for the Lakers. He tossed three innings of shutout ball. He struck out none, walked one and surrendered two hits. 

Despite a big day at the dish from Derek Waterman, who finished 3-4, WSULC Lakers lost 9-3 to Rochester College in game two at UC-Clermont on Saturday. 

The Lakers answered Rochester College's top inning with one run of its own in the first. Wright State Lake scored on a fielder's choice. 

Rochester College never surrendered the lead after the second inning, scoring two runs on an RBI single by Quarticcio. 

WSULC got one-run rallies in the second inning and the third. In the second, the Lakers scored on an RBI single by Waterman, scoring Tyler Venters

Rochester College scored two runs in the third inning, and then followed it up with two more in the seventh. In the third, Rochester College scored on a sacrifice fly by Chinn, bringing home Riggs. 

After pushing across one run in the bottom of the third, WSULC faced just a 5-3 deficit. A sacrifice fly by Isaac Fitzgerald set off the Lakers rally. But, Monear got Connor Burr to fly out to end the inning.
