Lakers Take Both Games at Cleary

WSULC didn't provide Alek Hartell with much support in the runs department, but he didn't need much. Hartell pitched eight strong innings to carry the Lakers to a 2-1 win over Clearly University in 12 innings on Saturday. 

Tristan Becker helped the Lakers take the lead for good in the eleventh inning. With the score tied at one, Becker came to the plate and hit a sacrifice fly, plating Ronald Acosta. 

Dan Borchers got it done on the bump on the way to a win. He tossed three innings of shutout ball. He struck out two, walked two and surrendered one hit. 

WSULC jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the top of the second. 

Clearly University scored its only run of the game on an RBI single by Malbonein the seventh inning.

WSULC beat Clearly University 9-0 in game two of a DH. 

The Lakers scored two runs in the fifth on a RBI single by Dillon Bell and a hit by pitch. 

Clearly University couldn't slow down Bell, who paced the Lakers with five hits. 
 
Wright State Lake's Riley Leubke kept Clearly University off the scoreboard for all seven innings he was on the hill. He pitched a shutout, allowing no opposing players to cross the plate on four hits while ringing up one. 
 
Fornwalt couldn't get it done on the mound for Clearly University, taking a loss. He lasted just 1 2/3 innings, walked two, struck out one, and allowed two runs. 

The Lakers never trailed after scoring two runs in the first on a two-run single by Jake Armstrong. 

WSULC got two-run rallies in the second inning and the fifth. In the second, the Lakers scored on an RBI single by Austin Quellhorst, bringing home Ronald Acosta. 

The Lakers pushed one run across in each of the fourth, sixth and seventh. In the fourth, they scored on a solo home run by Bell.
