The Wright State Laker baseball team traveled down to Alice Lloyd Saturday in search of their first wins of the year. Going into the weekend series the Lakers were 0-4. The Lakers have faced plenty adversity this year from early season injuries to not being able to play any home games until late March due to the tornado that swept through Celina in the fall, but through all of it the Lakers came in focused this weekend. The Lakers offense came alive scoring a combined 14 runs and smacking 24 hits in two games against the Eagles of ALC. The Lakers were able to win game one 8-5 and game two 6-2. The wins move the Lakers to 2-4 overall on the season.
Game 1:
Lakers took the lead late in the sixth inning to defeat Alice Lloyd College 8-5 on Saturday in game one of the twin bill. WSU-LC was down 5-4 in the top of the sixth inning when an error scored two runs for Lakers.
Chase Ruiz was the winning pitcher for Lakers. He surrendered zero runs on one hit over one-third of an inning, striking out one and walking one. Quintin Cantelli threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen. Cantelli recorded the last six outs to earn the save for Lakers. Zach Kirby started the game for Lakers. He went four and two-thirds innings, allowing five runs on three hits and striking out three.
Lakers racked up 14 hits in game one. Stephen Hoendorf, Tyler Venters, Dustin Lewis, Noah Greathouse, and Conor Schmitt all collected multiple hits for Lakers. Venters and Hoendorf each collected three hits to lead Lakers.

Game 2:
Lakers won game two against Alice Lloyd College, 6-2 in game two.
Lakers scored two runs when Isaac Fitzgerald singled in the first inning. WSU-LC put the game away in the sixth inning driving three runs across the plate. The big inning was thanks to a single by Dustin Lewis and a double by Dakota Shatto-Craft. Lewis is now hitting .500 on the season with team high 9 hits.
Lucas Sheriff was the winning pitcher for Lakers. He surrendered one run on two hits over five innings, striking out eight. Noah Greathouse threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen. Lakers offense stayed hot in game two, racking up ten hits on the day. Tyler Venters, Greathouse, and Lewis each managed two hits to lead Lakers.
