Lakers Sweep the Eagles in Record Setting Day

Tristan Becker was an RBI machine on Sunday, driving in five on three hits to lead Lakers past Alice Lloyd College 18-8 on Sunday. Becker drove in runs on a single in the second, a single in the fourth, a sacrifice fly in the fifth, and a walk in the eighth.

Alice Lloyd College scored five runs in the sixth inning, but Lakers massive six run eighth inning put the game away for good. Lakers batters contributing to the big inning included Connor Burr, Blaine Dahl, Dustin Lewis, Becker, and Stephen Hoendorf, all knocking in runs in the inning.

Casey Grimm was on the mound for Lakers. He went five and two-thirds innings, allowing three runs on five hits and striking out six.

Lakers racked up 18 hits on the day. Tyler Venters, Becker, Dakota Shatto-Craft, Fitzgerald, and Conor Schmitt each managed multiple hits for Lakers. Venters went 4-for-5 at the plate and had four runs to lead Lakers in hits and runs. The 18 hits and 18 runs are a program record for the Lakers. The win moves the Lakers to 3-4 overall on the season.
