Sheriff Shuts Down Harriers in the Win

The Wright State Lake Campus Baseball came into the game versus Miami Hamilton winning five out of their last six. The Lakers traveled down to Miami Hamilton Wednesday evening for a nine inning game.

Both teams were strong on the mound Wednesday, but Lakers defeated MUH 3-2. Lakers pitchers allowed just five hits to the Harriers.Lakers knotted the game up at one in the top of the fourth inning, when Conor Schmitt grounded out, scoring one run. Lakers pulled away for good with two runs in the fifth inning. In the fifth Tristan Becker's sac fly scored one run for Lakers and Chase Ruiz singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.

Lucas Sheriff the star of the game got the win for Lakers. He surrendered only two runs on five hits over seven and a third innings, striking out eight. Lakers had seven hits in the game. Dustin Lewis and Stephen Hoendorf each had multiple hits for Lakers. Lakers didn't commit a single error in the field.

The Lakers will travel to Oakland City University in Indiana for a four game series beginning on Saturday March 17th. First pitch is scheduled for 1pm.
