Lakers had a rough weekend here against Salem University going 1-3. Here is the recap from the four-game series.

Game 1

It was a tough day on Saturday for Wright State University-Lake Campus Lakers Varsity, who lost 14-1 to Salem University Tigers Varsity
In the first inning, Wright State University-Lake Campus Lakers Varsity got their offense started when Nick Hundley singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.
Salem University Tigers Varsity pulled away for good with six runs in the second inning. In the second Kobie Carpenter tripled on a 2-0 count, scoring one run, Brett Ehr singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run, Jared Palmyra singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run, Scott Kondroik singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run, and Alex Harper singled on a 1-0 count, scoring two runs.


Alden Halfinger earned the victory on the mound for Salem University Tigers Varsity. The hurler allowed seven hits and one run over five innings, striking out four and walking one.
Ryan Barker took the loss for Wright State University-Lake Campus Lakers Varsity. The bulldog lasted two and two-thirds innings, allowing 11 hits and nine runs while walking one.


Wright State University-Lake Campus Lakers Varsity saw the ball well today, racking up seven hits in the game. Drew Emerson and Hundley each racked up multiple hits for Wright State University-Lake Campus Lakers Varsity. Wright State University-Lake Campus Lakers Varsity knotted the game up at three in the top of the third inning, when Brady Hobert doubled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run.
After Wright State University-Lake Campus Lakers Varsity scored two runs in the top of the sixth, Salem University Tigers Varsity answered with two of their own. Wright State University-Lake Campus Lakers Varsity scored when Nick Hundley drew a walk, scoring one run and Austin Adkins drew a walk, scoring one run. Salem University Tigers Varsity then answered when Tyler Shinn homered on a 0-1 count, scoring two runs.


Salem University Tigers Varsity took the lead for good with two runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth Salem University Tigers Varsity scored on a stolen base during Jared Palmyra's at-bat. Then Palmyra doubled, driving in one.

Salem University Tigers Varsity launched two home runs on the day. Conor Bardue went for the long ball in the fifth inning. Shinn had a dinger in the sixth inning.

Game 3

Wright State University-Lake Campus Lakers Varsity fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 14-3 loss to Salem University Tigers Varsity on Sunday. Salem University Tigers Varsity scored on a single by Scott Kondroik, a single by Alex Harper, a single by Nathan Kuhn, a fielder's choice by Brett Ehr, and an error in the first inning.


The Wright State University-Lake Campus Lakers Varsity struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Salem University Tigers Varsity, giving up 14 runs.


Jaryd Lund was credited with the victory for Salem University Tigers Varsity. The hurler went four innings, allowing two runs on four hits and striking out five. Danny Sullivan threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.
Nick Bailey took the loss for Wright State University-Lake Campus Lakers Varsity. The bulldog surrendered ten runs on six hits over one and two-thirds innings, striking out one.
Riley Osterbur went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Wright State University-Lake Campus Lakers Varsity in hits.


Jared Palmyra led Salem University Tigers Varsity with two hits in three at-bats.

Game 4

Despite seeing its six-run lead whittled down by the end, Wright State University-Lake Campus Lakers Varsity still held off Salem University Tigers Varsity for a 7-6 victory on Sunday. Salem University Tigers Varsity tallied three runs in the failed comeback. Trey Hissam, Tyler Shinn, and Kobie Carpenter came through with RBIs to lead the rally.


Salem University Tigers Varsity scored four runs in the sixth inning, but Wright State University-Lake Campus Lakers Varsity still managed to pull out the victory. Salem University Tigers Varsity scored its runs on a single by Carpenter.
Wright State University-Lake Campus Lakers Varsity got on the board in the first inning. Nick Hundley drove in one when Hundley tripled.


Wright State University-Lake Campus Lakers Varsity scored three runs in the second inning. Wright State University-Lake Campus Lakers Varsity's offense in the inning came from doubles by Hayden Bill and Riley Osterbur.
