Lakers Split at Home Against Hocking

The Wright State University – Lake Campus Lakers (6-5) played host to Hocking College for a doubleheader on Wednesday. In Game 1, the Lakers blanked Hocking with a final score of 2-0. Starting on the mound for your Lakers was sophomore Shane Koedyker (2-1), who recorded the win, throwing 6 shutout innings, allowing six hits and two walks, also striking out two. On for the save was sophomore Bryce Keen (1), who recorded the final three outs of the game while allowing one hit and striking out one. The Lakers were led offensively by junior Nick Hundley and sophomore Brady Hobert, both going 2-3 at the plate in Game 1. Recording RBI's in the game were sophomore Drew Emerson and freshman Noah McEldowney, both recording one apiece. Emerson recorded his RBI via a solo homerun, his first of the season. McEldowney, as well as freshman Noah Crawford, both recorded doubles in the game. 

In Game 2, the Lakers were unable to win a 7-6 ballgame after being down 7-0 early in the game. On the mound for the Lakers was freshman Austin Scarberry (0-1), who recorded the loss, going 2.2 innings, allowing seven runs (seven earned) on six hits and three walks. He also struck out two Hocking hitters. In relief for his collegiate debut was freshman Dylan Winkler, who threw 4 shutout innings, allowing two hits and three walks, also striking out a Hocking hitter. To help Winkler get the final out in the top of the 7th, sophomore Bryce Keen recorded the final out via a strikeout. Offensively, WSULC was led by two hits from sophomore Riley Osterbur. Recording RBI's were Osterbur (2), freshman Noah Crawford (2), and freshman Kaden Davidson. Junior Nick Hundley led the team with two walks drawn. Recording his first collegiate hit was freshman Gabe Link, having a 1-4 game at the plate. After the split series with Hocking College, the Lakers stand with a record of 7-6. Next, the Lake Campus will head to Grand Rapids, MI to play a 4 game series against Grace Christian University on March 24th and 25th.
