Lakers Have a Tough Weekend Going 0-4 versus Miami Hamilton

Lakers drop conference series, going 0-4 on the weekend versus Miami Hamiliton. 

Game 1

The Lakers came up short in an 11 inning thriller, losing 4-3 in the first game of the double header on Saturday. The game was tied at three in the bottom of the 11th when Hamiltons Requarth singled, scoring 1 run. Daniel Brayton started the first game of the series for the Lakers, the sophmore was dominant in his effort. He went 8.1 innings, giving up 3 runs on 2 hits, walking 6 and striking out an impressive 15 batters. He was relieved by Noah McEldowney who recieved the loss for the game, he went 2 innings, surrendering the winning run, while allowing 3 hits, walking 3 and striking out just as many. Offensively, the Lakers managed 4 hits, scoring 3 runs and walking 6 times. Cade Meade led the Lakers offense, the first baseman drove in all 3 of the Lakers runs on 2 hits, including a double. Noah McEldowney and Noah Crawford each collecting singles in the game. 

Game 2

In the second game of the series, the Lakers lsot 7-2. Alex DiVincenzo started and took the loss for the Lakers, the right-hander went 5 innings, surrendering 7 runs (4 earned) on 9 hits, striking out 2 and walking 2. He was relieved by Trever Sheets who threw 1 inning, giving up 1 hit, striking out 1 and walking 1. The Lakers ending the inning on a double play. Offensively, the Lakers didn't manage any more hits than the first game. Collecting 4 hits, Hobert and Ebersole were the only Lakers that came around to score. Cade Meade collecting 1 RBI in the game on a 1-3 performance. Brady Hobert, Noah McEldowney, and Hayden Bill each adding hits on the day. 

Game 3

Despite being back at home, the Lakers couldn't keep up with the Miami Hamilton offense losing 11-4. Junior Shane Koedyker started for the Lakers, giving up 9 runs on 7 hits, striking out 2 and walking 4 in 4.1 innings and taking the loss on the day. Hamilton's offense was powered by the long ball, the Harriers blasted 4 home runs off the starter. Shane was relieved by freshman Cole Neely, the threw 2.2 innings, giving up 2 runs on 4 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 1. Offensively, the Lakers collected 3 hits, scoring 4 runs, 3 of which came via a Nick Hundley home run in the 6th. Hundley led the team with 2 hits in the game. Followed by a single from Junior Liam Musgrove. Musgrove also collected a stolen base in the game. 

Game 4

In the last game of the series the Lakers lost in another extra innings game with a score of 7-5. Hayden Bill started and threw the whole game for the Lakers, the senior went 8 innings, giving up 7 runs on 13 hits, walking 1 and striking out 4. The Lakers offense tallied 6 hits in the game, Noah McEldowney having himself a game with half of those hits coming from him. The sophmore went 3-5 with a double and 1 RBI. Jacob Barr, Robby Genant, and Liam musgrove each adding hits of their own. Musgrove also stole 3 bags in the game, with Noah McEldowney and Turner Ebersole each grabbing two of their own. 

 

The Lakers look to turn around this losing streak on April 10th versus Edison State Community College.
