The Wright State Lake Men's Basketball team traveled Friday night to Grand Rapids, Michigan to take on Grace Bible College who is #4 in the NCCAA Division II. The Lakers got off to a strong start competing very well with the Tigers of Grace Bible through the first half despite only shooting 36 percent in the first half. At the half the Lakers were down 45-33. Unfortunately for the Lakers the Tigers opened up the second half on a 15-2 run, and the Lakers could never get it closer than 18 after that, as the Tigers went on to win 101-70. Lakers were led by Kain Luthman and Seamus Anglin, as Luthman poured 21 points 8 rebounds and 2 blocks while Anglin added another double double to his tally with 16 points, 10 rebounds, and 5 assists

• The Lakers shot 38 percent from the floor compared to 52 percent from the Tigers
• The Lakers shared the wealth tonight as they had 22 assists on their 28 FGs. Lakers also had a season low 10 turnovers in th game.
• Blake Stephens was on triple double watch as he had 11 points 8 rebounds and a career high 8 assists in tonight's contest.
• Grace Bible's size owned the boards as they held a 52-38 rebounding advantage.

What Coach Says:

Coach Westerlund had this to say about tonight's contest, "I was proud of our guys effort. Grace Bible is a very good team, and they're extremely well coached. I thought we consistently battled tonight. Unfortunately for us we didn't start the second half the way we wanted to, and it was just too steep of a hole. Although I loved the way we moved the ball tonight. Our goal heading into the game was 250 passes, we were able to reach 206 passes and I believe that was evidenced by our assist totals. We just didn't hit enough shots tonight." On the play of Seamus Anglin, "Seamus is probably our most improved player. He's come leaps and bounds since we've started. He is really playing confidently, and his energy on the glass and defensive side of the ball was tremendous." Westerlund also said, "It's a process, but we keep improving and as a coach that's what you want to see. We are excited for our next test tomorrow versus Southern State."
