Wright State Lakers took on Boyce College Bulldogs, their last opponent before the Christmas break. The Lakers were lethargic and flat as the energized Bulldogs gave the Lakers everything they could handle. In the first half the Lakers built their lead as large as 6, but the Bulldogs did enough to hang around. The Lakers were able to successfully turn the Bulldogs over with their length and athleticism but could not finish on the offensive end. In the second half Boyce College took control holding a slim lead for 10 minutes of play. The final ten minutes the Lakers showed a sense of urgency to fight their way back into the game. The defense of the Lakers held strong as they were able to hold the Bulldogs of Boyce to 33% shooting on the game. The Laker ultimately pulled out the game thanks to clutch free throw shooting by Isaac Clay and Quincy Green. The Lakers were led by Isaac Clay's 15 points and 4 assists. The impact player of the game was Tyrone Auzenne Jr. His energy off the bench sparked the Lakers as he chipped in 12 points and 6 rebounds off the bench. Auzenne Jr. ultimately scored the go ahead bucket for the Lakers down the stretch.

Coach Richard Westerlund said this after the game, "I was extremely disappointed with our effort and energy level. Boyce just outworked us. We were very fortunate to come out with the victory. Coach McCarty gets his guys to play extremely hard and they competed all night. We have got to take pride each and every time out and not just expect to win because we are bigger, more athletic, and more talented." On teams offensive struggles, "We have work to do on the offensive end. We have had trouble being efficient, we've found ways to score this season at times but we have got to do a better job in our half court offense. I think the break will help us refresh things and come back with a better identity of who we are offensively." On first semester, "I thought this semester had its ups and downs. We stand 5-9 right now, would have loved to be 6-8 or 7-7. I think we can look at a few games we feel we should have gotten, but overall I am pleased with my team despite the effort tonight. We have grown and matured a lot this semester and we will continue to do so. I am excited for second semester and watching us continue to change our best."
