The Wright State Lakers traveled down to Dayton to play their second game of the year at the Nutter Center. The Lakers faced off against USCAA opponent Kent State Tuscarawas for the second time this year. The Lakers came into the game hungry after four practices during the week. The home team started fast, and never looked back. The Lakers were led by an outside shooting barrage from Isaac Clay. The Lakers never looked back, while placing the clamps on the Golden Eagles offense. Wright State Lakers held the Eagles to 7 points through the first 12 minutes of the game. Chaz Painter had a big first half with 9 points and 8 rebounds. At the end of the first half the Lakers led 56-23. The second half the Lakers were able to maintain their lead in the with high pressure defense and great ball movement. The Lakers largest lead was built with five minutes to go leading the Golden Eagles 90-53. Tyrone Auzenne Jr. posted another double double with a career high 19 points and 13 rebounds. Isaac Clay also posted his career high with 23 points including six three pointers. The Lakers balanced offensive attack allowed the home team to cruise to 102-75 victory. The victory moves the Lakers to 9-15 overall and 5-2 in USCAA play.

What Coach Says:

Coach Richard Westerlund said this about the game, "I was really happy with how we started the game. We have been very intentional this week in practice in refining the details. I think that was scene by season high numbers we had in shooting tonight. This first half was our best half of the season. I told our guys we are close to taking that next step as a program, tonight was a step in that direction. Credit to our guys, but we still have more work to do though." On Isaac Clay's performance, "Isaac is a natural scorer, tonight in the first half he was unconscious, when Isaac is efficient and shooting like he did tonight it takes our team to another level." On everyone on the team scoring, "Tonight was special, this is first time in a long time that every guy that dressed scored. We tell our guys to keep the team first and every guy will succeed and shine. I think tonight was perfect example of that."
