The Wright State-Lake Campus Cross-Country team had an impressive showing at the Mike Baumer XC Classic, highlighted by standout performances from both the women's and men's teams.
A major highlight of the event was Kaylie Dameron, who not only finished 16th overall but also broke her own school record in the 5k by an impressive 35 seconds, clocking in at 19:02. Dameron's remarkable performance placed her ahead of 31 NCAA Division I runners, a total of 102 athletes were in the race. Kaylie's time is among the best for the USCAA.
The women's team also saw strong performances from Tatianna Poelking and Alecia Eischen, who finished with times of 22:39 and 24:45, respectively. Every member of the women's team posted collegiate personal bests, a testament to their hard work and preparation.
On the men's side, Tyler Rowen made a notable debut in his freshman year, also finishing with a time of 19:02. His performance marks a promising start to his collegiate cross-country career.
Overall, the Wright State-Lake Campus Cross-Country team left a strong impression at the Mike Baumer XC Classic, with every runner achieving personal bests and demonstrating the potential for a successful season ahead.
