Ronaldo Acosta was named this weeks USCAA Baseball Player of the Week. Through the first games of the season, Acosta had five extra base hits while scoring seven runs and adding seven RBI's. His extra base hit total of five matches his total from the 2016 season.  

Acosta is the third Laker this year to garner the Player of the Week honor, and he is the first baseball player to earn the recognition.

Coach Chad Geier had this to say about Acosta's play, "I am very pleased with the way Ronald Acosta has swung the bat so far this year. He has worked his butt off this off-season in the weight room and it is paying off for him. Ronald gives everything he's got in practice and in games, along with trying to help others out with their swings as well. Acosta is definitely one of the leaders of this team and with his work ethic, I wouldn't expect anything less."
