Wright State Lake Women's Basketball began the second semester schedule on Monday night at Ohio State Lima. The Barons of OSU Lima used a balance attack against the Lakers, who were once again playing with only 5 women. The Lakers kept the game tight early on, but ultimately the pace of play and lack of bench depth led to a 65-51 defeat to the Lady Barons.
How It Happened: While the Lakers were able to keep the game close early, offense was difficult to come by, as they trailed at the end of the first quarter by a score of 11-6. Neither team was able to get much going early, as the score was just 25-16 OSU Lima at half. In the second half, the Barons got hot from three, led by LaTrisha Edmonds with 3 made three pointers, as they extended the lead. The Lakers were, again, plagued by missed free throws, going 11-19 from the free throw line. Onyx Lopez led the Lakers with 19 points, including going 5-7 from the free throw line. Additionally, Kelsey Wertz added a solid performace with 18 points, also going 5-7 from the free throw line.
Up Next: Lakers next play in Hamilton against Miami Hamilton on Saturday, January 14th with a 1:00pm tip-off.
