Young Lakers Slowly Seeing Improvement

The Lady Laker Volleyball team is slowly seeing improvement as their 2016 campaign continues. The young squad continues to grow and see more consistent play with each passing match. That was evident in Saturday's Tri-Match with UC-Clermont and WVU Tech. The Lakers fell to Clermont in the first match by scores of 16-25, 25-22, 23-25, 20-25. Wright State totaled 72 digs, lead by Gabby Guerrero with 26 and Emily Ruhenkamp with 21, and 34 kills, lead by Lucy Castro with 11 and Hannah Scott with 9. Additionally, Onyx Lopez lead the team with 34 assists in the match.

 

In match two, the Lakers lost 15-25, 8-25, 16-25 to WVU Tech. The Lakers totaled 36 digs, lead by Castro and Guerrero with 8 a piece. Castro also lead the team with 6 kills and Lopez again lead the team with 18 assists. With the two losses, the team falls to 0-9 and 0-5 in USCAA play. They will be back in action on Saturday, September 17th at home against Miami Middletown.
